Meredith Sheeks

I am a Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. For the summer of 2026, I will be an active participant in the AI + Data Ethics (AIDE) Summer Program in Boston, MA. I will serve as an Outreach and Service Assistant for the Parr Center for Ethics in the spring of 2027.

My philosophical interests are broad, but my current work focuses on topics in ethics and epistemology. My dissertation, Morality without Moralizing, is about the authority of morality.

Before moving to Chapel Hill, I completed an M.A. in philosophy at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL and a B.S. in mathematics and theology at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.
